Inspirations

I wanted to share a couple of resources that have influenced my journey and inspired me to listen more closely to my life, and the messages I operate out of. I picked these two because they are so different from each other, knowing that we all gravitate to different types of teachers and artists. I hope you find something in their content that brings you life and inspiration.

Let Your Life Speak: Listening to the Voice of Vocation by Parker Palmer

I cannot recommend this book highly enough. He speaks eloquently about his struggle with finding his path as well as navigating depression.

Here is a – Brain Pickings overview if you want to just read the highlights.

How To Fix a Broken Record by Amena Brown

I recently stumbled across Ms. Brown and I love her! I haven’t read the book yet, but I’ve listened to the podcast and it’s so good! She talks about the messages we have absorbed throughout life that play like a broken record, keeping us from growth and maturity. She explores what the process of fixing and replacing those messages have been for her and others.

She also did a 10 episode podcast if you are like me and prefer to listen. (I love when authors do this!)
